The pitch at the Arnos Vale Ground in Kingstown, Saint Vincent, where today's match between Bangladesh and Nepal took place, was far from ideal for batting. However, failing to play out the full 20 overs and being bowled out for 106 runs against an associate nation like Nepal highlights the poor state of Najmul Hossain Shanto's team's batting performance.

Despite the challenges, Bangladesh managed to clinch a 21-run victory, defending their low total of 106 runs thanks to their bowlers' outstanding performance. For the first time in the T20 World Cup, Bangladesh has won three matches in the main stage, all victories driven by their bowlers.

In the Super Eight stage, where there are three matches to be played, the batters will need to step up their game. Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto is well aware that they cannot rely on the bowlers to win matches every time.

Shanto mentioned that despite their best efforts, neither he nor the other batters are managing to perform well, and the reasons for this are unclear. However, Shanto did not hesitate to call the batting performance unacceptable.

In the post-match press conference after the game against Nepal, Shanto said, "No, it’s not possible for the bowlers to win every day. I hope they do, but the batters have responsibilities too. Everyone is trying to figure out why it's not working, but somehow it just isn’t. Honestly, it’s unacceptable."

He further added, "This pitch probably could have produced 140-150 runs, but we didn’t manage to. So, it's definitely a cause for concern for us."

"The batting is definitely a cause for concern. Batting like this is not good for the team. A strong start is crucial, and we’re not getting that. The lower-order batters are also failing to finish properly. So, it's definitely a worry, but we have to find a way out of it ourselves. We always plan and strategize on how to overcome these issues, yet these mistakes keep recurring. I hope we can minimize these mistakes in the next round."
