The 2024 T20 World Cup presents a tough mission for Bangladesh. Caribbean legend and popular commentator Ian Bishop has made a prediction about Nazmul Hossain Shanto's team, suggesting that Bangladesh will lose to the Netherlands in this World Cup.

Recently, the Bangladesh team has not been in great form. Before the World Cup, they lost a series to the United States and suffered a heavy defeat against India in a warm-up match. With a string of failures, Bangladesh will begin their World Cup campaign against Sri Lanka on June 8.

Bishop believes that teams like Nepal and the Netherlands could cause major upsets in this World Cup. He clearly stated that the Netherlands will defeat Bangladesh:

"We have seen new teams beating big teams in the last few World Cups. If you talk about possibilities, I would say the Netherlands will beat Bangladesh."

"Which team is most at risk of losing to smaller teams? Bangladesh. I'm looking forward to watching Nepal play. The way their fans support the team is amazing. The team has a lot of talent. Maybe not in this tournament, but in a few years, the team will be in a good place."

In the last 2023 ODI World Cup, the Netherlands surprised everyone by beating Bangladesh. In this T20 World Cup, the Dutch team is again in the same group as the Tigers, posing a threat even before the main event starts. The Netherlands have already made a statement by defeating Sri Lanka in a warm-up match.

In the World Cup, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and the Netherlands are in the same group. They are joined by Nepal and South Africa in Group D. After their match against Sri Lanka on June 8, Bangladesh's second match will be against South Africa on June 10 in New York. Their third match against the Netherlands will take place on June 13 in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The final group match will be against Nepal on June 17, also in Saint Vincent.
