Bangladesh Sets Challenging Total in First ODI Against West Indies

The first ODI of the series between Bangladesh and West Indies has begun in Saint Kitts, with Bangladesh setting a challenging total of 294 runs after winning the toss and opting to bat first. The team's solid performance featured three half-centuries from opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim, captain Mehedi Hasan Miraz, and experienced batter Mahmudullah Riyad.

In the finishing stages, Mahmudullah Riyad, alongside Zaker Ali Onik, provided crucial runs to help Bangladesh post a total of 294/6. Both players played key roles in guiding their team to a competitive total, with Mahmudullah's experience shining through.

Bangladesh got off to a strong start, thanks to their opening pair of Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Soumya Sarkar, who added 34 runs. However, Soumya was dismissed for 19, caught behind. The team soon lost Liton Das as well, putting them under pressure with two quick wickets. Despite these setbacks, captain Miraz and opener Tanzid Tamim steadied the ship.

Afif Hossain Dhruv, playing his first match of the series, scored a quick 28 runs, helping Miraz build a solid partnership. Zaker Ali Onik played a crucial role in the lower order, but he was dismissed for 48 runs in the final over, finishing Bangladesh's innings at 294/6.

This solid batting performance gives Bangladesh a competitive total to defend as they look to take control in the first match of the series.
