Bangladesh Announces Test Squad for India Tour
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announces the Test squad for the Tour of India. The Bangladesh team leaves for India on 15 September for two ICC World Test Championship matches in Chennai and Kanpur.
The first Test starts on 19 September while the second match begins on 27 September. The 16-man squad has one change from the side which beat Pakistan 2-0 in the recent WTC series in Rawalpindi.
Left-arm paceman Shoriful Islam is still recovering from a groin injury and was unavailable for the series. Wicket-keeper batsman Jaker Ali Anik has been drafted in the side. The 26-year-old right-hander is the only uncapped player in the squad. Since making his debut in 2016, Jaker has averaged 41.47 in first class cricket. He hit his highest first class score of 172 in the recent A Team series in Pakistan:
