Aneurin Donald Joins Rangpur Riders Ahead of Playoffs
To strengthen their squad before the playoffs, Rangpur Riders have added English batter Aneurin Donald to their camp. His county team, Derbyshire, confirmed the news through a social media post, though Rangpur Riders have yet to make an official announcement.
The 28-year-old Aneurin Donald is yet to make his debut for the England national team. He has played 78 T20 matches, scoring 1,340 runs in 73 innings. His record includes eight fifties and a strike rate of 144.70.
Although his profile isn’t particularly high, Donald could be a valuable addition to the Rangpur Riders’ playing XI, especially after the departure of Khushdil Shah. The middle-order batter is known for his aggressive batting style and high strike rate in English domestic cricket.
Rangpur Riders have been struggling in the ongoing BPL. After winning eight consecutive matches, they have now lost four in a row. This afternoon, they will face Khulna Tigers in the Eliminator match. Interestingly, Rangpur lost their last game to Khulna, but both teams secured one victory each in their two group-stage encounters.
