It was reported that Faruk had tried to call Tamim to the stage, but Tamim was unwilling, leading to Nazmul Hossain Shanto accepting the award on his behalf.

According to sources from the Fortune Barishal franchise, after defeating Dhaka Capitals by 8 wickets, Tamim had left for the award ceremony with his son, Arham Iqbal, at the right time. Although Tamim was present on time, the BCB president delayed his arrival at the ceremony. As a result, Tamim chose not to attend the award distribution.
