The Afghanistan Cricket Board has announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup under the leadership of Rashid Khan. Among these 15 cricketers, 8 are currently participating in the IPL (Indian Premier League). This squad, carefully crafted with experienced players, holds the potential to make a significant impact on the World Cup stage.
Afghanistan's World Cup squad comprises 4 recognized batters: Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Ibrahim Zadran, Najibullah Zadran, and backup wicketkeeper Mohammad Ishaque. Additionally, there are 6 all-rounders in the team. Apart from Rashid, the spin department boasts talents like Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Naveen-ul-Haq, and Karim Janat. In the pace bowling department, along with all-rounders excluded, Afghanistan relies on the likes of Naveen-ul-Haq, Fazalhaq Farooqi, and Farid Ahmad.

Hazratullah Zazai, who was not part of the main squad, and as traveling reserves, will be heading to the United States and the West Indies, respectively, along with Sadiqullah Atal and Mohammad Salim.
