Adil Rashid's Record Milestone for England
Adil Rashid's Record Milestone for England
England's star leg-spinner, Adil Rashid, became the first English spinner to take 200 or more wickets in ODIs. Rashid achieved this milestone in the second ODI against Australia at Headingley when he dismissed Glenn Maxwell.
Besides Adil Rashid, the only other English spinners to have taken more than 100 ODI wickets are Moeen Ali (111) and Graeme Swann (104). In women's cricket, Sophie Ecclestone has also claimed 100 ODI wickets. Overall, in England's cricket history, only James Anderson and Darren Gough have taken more than 200 ODI wickets, alongside Rashid.
After making his ODI debut in 2009, Rashid played five matches before waiting nearly six years to secure his place in England's white-ball cricket. Upon his return, he formed a formidable spin partnership with Moeen Ali.
