BCB Announces 19-Member Squad for Rising Stars Asia Cup

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has confirmed its preliminary squad for the upcoming Rising Stars Asia Cup. Bangladesh are planning to enter the Qatar-hosted 50-over tournament with several familiar faces from the national team set-up as they prepare for the continental competition.

The squad features a promising blend of experience and young talent. The inclusion of internationally experienced cricketers such as Mohammad Naim Sheikh, Sabbir Rahman, Parvez Hossain Emon and Mohammad Saifuddin is expected to add considerable strength to the team.

As part of preparations for the upcoming tour, a team conditioning camp will begin on November 6 under the supervision of Mohammad Ashraful. Following an assessment of the players’ performances during the training sessions, the final 15-member squad will be selected. The chosen players will then travel to Qatar to participate in the tournament.

The 50-over Asian cricket tournament, featuring eight teams, will get underway in Qatar on November 19. The participating teams have been divided into two groups, with Bangladesh A placed in Group A alongside Sri Lanka A, Afghanistan A and Hong Kong. Meanwhile, Group B consists of India A, Pakistan, Nepal and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Following the exciting group-stage contests, the top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals. The two semi-final matches are scheduled to take place on November 26 and 27, while the tournament final will be held on November 29.
