South Africa announce international fixtures for the 2026-27 season

Cricket South Africa have announced their home international fixtures for the 2026/27 season. It promises to be a busy summer, with Australia, Bangladesh and England set to tour South Africa. The schedule has been structured with a strong focus on Test cricket and One-Day International (ODI) series.

The Proteas will begin the season in September with a three-match ODI series against Australia. The first ODI will be held on 24 September at Kingsmead Stadium in Durban. The traditional ‘Pink Day’ fixture will take place on 27 September at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, while the third and final match of the series will be played on 30 September at JB Marks Oval in Potchefstroom.

This will be followed by a three-match Test series against Australia from 9 to 31 October. After the opening Test in Durban, the remaining matches will be played at St George’s Park in Gqeberha and Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town.

In November, South Africa will welcome Bangladesh. The two-match Test series will be held in Johannesburg and Centurion. The white-ball leg begins in early December with a three-match ODI series in East London, Gqeberha and Cape Town. A three-match T20 International series will then be played from 10 to 13 December in Kimberley, Benoni and Centurion.

One of the highlights of the summer will be the three-match Test series against England. The first Test starts on 17 December in Johannesburg, followed by the traditional Boxing Day Test in Centurion and the New Year’s Test in Cape Town in early January. The season will conclude with a three-match ODI series against England in mid-January.

However, due to scheduling conflicts, the T20I series against England has been removed from this season’s calendar. Both boards are exploring the possibility of rescheduling it at a later date.

Cricket South Africa Chief Executive Officer Pholetsi Moseki said the tours by three strong cricketing nations are expected to deliver a vibrant and competitive summer for fans. He also emphasized the importance of the upcoming season in terms of the ICC World Test Championship and preparations for the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.
