A major change has been made to Bangladesh’s squad for the upcoming 20th Asian Games. All-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin has already been ruled out of the Asian Games due to injury. Off-spinner Alis Al Islam has been called up as his replacement.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) media department confirmed the matter in a press release issued on Wednesday (September 23). According to the release, Saifuddin has been ruled out of the Asian Games due to a hamstring injury to his right leg.
Meanwhile, 29-year-old Alis Al Islam is primarily known as an effective bowler in limited-overs cricket. The off-spinner recently featured for the Bangladesh ‘A’ team in the unofficial ODI series in South Africa.
It is worth mentioning that the Bangladesh cricket team is currently making final preparations for the 20th Asian Games, which will be held in Japan.
