The Possible XI Bangladesh May Field Against Ireland
New format, new challenge. After the Test series, Bangladesh are now shifting gears quickly as they prepare to face Ireland in the T20 format. On Thursday (27 November) at 6 PM, the two teams will meet in the first match of the series. Following consecutive series wins against Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, the Tigers aim to continue their winning streak against the Irish as well.
At the pre-match press conference, captain Liton Das expressed dissatisfaction over team selection. He was particularly upset about the exclusion of Shamim Patwary. However, Liton believes that once Bangladesh take the field against Ireland, they should be able to dominate the match.
The team management is quite relaxed about the top order and bowling unit. But the inconsistency in the middle order remains a concern. Towhid Hridoy and Zakir Ali are struggling with form, and although Nurul Hasan Sohan brings experience, he has been unable to play big innings for a long time. Newly included Mahidul Islam Ankon has also been out of touch recently while playing for the ‘A’ team.
Considering the conditions, Bangladesh may field three pacers in the opening match. In the spin department, Rishad Hossain and Nasum Ahmed are likely to be in the playing XI. The top order will rely heavily on Saif Hassan, Liton Das, and Tanzid Tamim.
Bangladesh’s probable XI:
Tanzid Tamim, Saif Hassan, Liton Das, Towhid Hridoy, Zakir Ali, Nurul Hasan, Rishad Hossain, Tanzim Sakib, Nasum Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, Mustafizur Rahman.
