Virat Kohli, the top-order batsman from India expressed that he wouldn't be easily found after bidding farewell to cricket. Kohli, aged 35, also shared how he wants to spend his post-cricket life.
"When I retire from playing, I will leave. You won't see me for many days. So, while I'm playing, I want to exhaust myself completely. That's what drives me to play," Kohli said on the podcast.
Kohli further added, "I don't want to leave any work unfinished. I don't want to regret anything. I'm certain that might not always be the case. But once my work is done, I'll move on."
He knows very well that he won't be able to continue playing cricket throughout his life, and he doesn't even want that. Therefore, Kohli's wish is to finish everything before taking retirement from cricket.
His hunger for runs is still intact even at the age of 35. Despite being at this age, Kohli consistently pushes himself, leaving behind a legacy. Just like in the ongoing IPL, Kohli is climbing the run charts with determination. So far, he has scored 661 runs in 13 matches. He hasn't even touched 600 runs in the IPL yet. He has an unbeatable record of eight centuries in the IPL.
Kohli began his professional cricket journey in 2006, and after two years, in 2008, he stepped into international cricket. Over time, he has established himself as one of the greatest batsmen. Therefore, everyone's expectations from him are quite high. Fans have placed him on a royal pedestal, hence why they lovingly call him "King Kohli."
