Bangladesh secured their first-ever T20I series win against the West Indies on their home soil. The Tigers clinched the series by winning the first two matches of the three-match series. Bowlers played a significant role in the victories at St. Vincent, leading to notable improvements in the ICC rankings for Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud, and Sheikh Mahedi Hasan.
Taskin Ahmed, who picked up 2 wickets in the first match and 3 in the second, climbed to 18th place in the T20I bowlers’ rankings with a career-best 608 rating points. This marks a three-spot improvement for Taskin, making him the highest-ranked Bangladeshi bowler in T20 cricket. Mustafizur Rahman, who did not play in this series, dropped two spots to 19th.
Close behind Taskin is Sheikh Mahedi Hasan, who jumped 18 places to reach 23rd with 590 rating points.
Leg-spinner Rishad Hossain remains at 38th with 531 rating points. Meanwhile, pacer Hasan Mahmud climbed 38 spots to jointly hold the 47th position with Kagiso Rabada and Nuwan Thushara.
Tanzim Hasan Sakib dropped one spot and now stands at 61st in the rankings.
Among batters, Towhid Hridoy remains the top-ranked Bangladeshi despite not participating in this series. However, he dropped six places and is now tied at 29th with South Africa’s Tristan Stubbs.
Litton Das, struggling with poor form, fell two spots to 46th in the batters' rankings.
