Persistent rain forces Day 3 of Greater Noida Test to be called off
Continuous rain has forced the abandonment of the third day of the Test match between Afghanistan and New Zealand in Greater Noida. Most of the outfield remains covered, and despite three days passing, the toss has not yet occurred. No players from either team arrived at the venue today.
The match was officially called off at 9:15 AM local time, just 15 minutes before the scheduled start of play. With three days gone by without a toss, and heavy rain expected over the next two days, the chances of a result in this Test seem slim.
The first day of the Test was washed out due to heavy rain the night before. The second day also saw no play due to the wet outfield. On the third day, persistent rain turned the field into what resembled a waterlogged area. It was almost indistinguishable whether it was a cricket ground or a pond, with the entire outfield submerged under water.
