The Bangladesh HP (High Performance) team did not start well on their tour of Australia, suffering a 148-run defeat in the first four-day match against Pakistan Shaheens. However, in the second match in Darwin, the team led by Mahmudul Hasan Joy is in a better position.
Winning the toss and batting first, the Bangladesh HP team was bowled out for 258 runs in 67.3 overs on the first day. Captain Mahmudul Hasan Joy was the top scorer with 69 runs, while Aich Mollah contributed 55 runs.
Despite scoring 258 runs, the Bangladesh HP team secured a 79-run lead in the first innings, thanks to their bowlers. Pakistan Shaheens were all out for 179 runs in 67.2 overs.
