The Bangladesh HP team kicked off their campaign in the 9-team Top End T20 series with a commanding victory. Under the captaincy of Akbar Ali, the team defeated the Melbourne Renegades Academy by a massive margin of 77 runs in their first match.

The match took place in Darwin, where the Melbourne Renegades Academy won the toss and opted to field first. Bangladesh HP, led by a strong fifty from Parvez Hossain Emon, posted a total of 170 runs in their allotted 20 overs. In response, Melbourne Renegades Academy was bowled out for just 93 runs in 15.2 overs.

The opening partnership between Jishan Alam and Tanzid Hasan Tamim yielded only 19 runs. Jishan Alam scored 10 runs off 10 balls, while Tanzid Hasan Tamim made 17 runs off 9 balls before getting out.

A cameo from Abu Hider Rony, who scored 13 runs off 8 balls, helped Bangladesh HP reach a total of 170 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their 20 overs. For Melbourne Renegades, Matt Henig took 3 wickets, Tyler Pearson took 2, and Harry Dixon claimed 1.

In reply, Melbourne Renegades Academy started with a 34-run opening partnership. Joshua Brown scored 19 runs, and Harry Dixon made 16 before getting out. After losing their second wicket at 54 runs, Melbourne kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were eventually bowled out for 93 runs in 15.2 overs.

Rakibul Hasan and Ripon Mondol each took 3 wickets, while Mukidul Islam Mugdha and Abu Hider Rony shared the remaining 4 wickets equally.
