England completed a 3-0 series whitewash over the West Indies, winning the third and final Test at Edgbaston by 10 wickets. The victory was sealed on the third day, as England chased down a modest target with ease.
Resuming their second innings at 33 for 2, the West Indies faced a fierce bowling attack led by England's Mark Wood. The Caribbean side was bowled out for just 175 runs, with Wood taking 5 wickets for 40 runs. Despite a resilient 72-run partnership between Mckenny Clarke and Daquarius John, Clarke's dismissal for 57 marked a turning point. Wood's relentless bowling then dismantled the rest of the West Indies lineup, with John contributing 55 runs.
Chasing just 82 runs for victory, England's openers Ben Stokes and Ben Duckett made quick work of the target. Stokes scored an unbeaten 55 off 28 balls, while Duckett finished not out on 25 off 16 balls. The pair hit a total of 13 fours and 2 sixes, reaching the target in just 7.2 overs with a run rate of 11.59.
England's aggressive approach, reminiscent of a T20 game, saw them achieve the target comfortably. Mark Wood was named Player of the Match for his excellent bowling performance, which played a crucial role in the decisive victory.
