In the second T20 match, India secured a 7-wicket victory over Sri Lanka under the DLS method. With this win, the world champions clinched the series with a 2-0 lead. Chasing a revised target of 78 runs in 8 overs, India achieved the victory with 9 balls to spare.
The match, delayed by rain, saw India winning the toss and opting to field first at Pallekele on Sunday. Sri Lanka started well, scoring 54 runs in the powerplay for the loss of one wicket. After Kusal Mendis was dismissed for 10 runs, Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Perera added 54 runs from 36 balls.
Hardik Pandya broke the partnership by dismissing Kusal Perera, who scored 53 runs, including 6 fours and 2 sixes. Pathum Nissanka contributed 32 runs from 24 balls. Kamindu Mendis was also dismissed by Pandya after scoring 26 runs. Following these dismissals, Sri Lanka struggled to recover and kept losing wickets, eventually finishing their innings at 161/9.

Jaiswal and Suryakumar Yadav, the hero of the previous match, then put on a strong batting display. Suryakumar was dismissed after scoring 26 runs from 12 balls, while Jaiswal made 30 runs from 15 balls. Hardik Pandya then guided the team to victory with an unbeaten 22 runs from 9 balls.
For Sri Lanka, Maheesh Theekshana, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Matheesha Pathirana each took one wicket.
