Bangladesh's new pace bowling coach, Andrew Adams, is facing quite a few challenges while working with Taskin and Shariful. He himself has admitted the 'language barrier' as a problem. Sometimes he can't understand the cricketers, while at other times, the cricketers can't understand him. Today, at a press conference, journalists observed this problem when he struggled to answer their questions. He has been a bit overwhelmed by the pace at which things happen in cricket.

Bangladesh's first Test against Sri Lanka is underway in Sylhet. At the end of the first day's play, the welcoming hosts are not in a very good position. They allowed Sri Lanka to score 280 runs in the first innings and lost three wickets in reply by the end of the day. Representing Bangladesh at the press conference at the end of the day, pace bowling coach Andrew Adams made his appearance. He seems quite comfortable with the fast bowlers' progress so far. However, he also mentioned his own problem, saying,

'My job is to improve them. The difficult thing is that there is always a game going on. Improvement needs to happen while you're playing. There is a language barrier, which needs to be overcome. What I see and what the boys understand don't always align. They have been here for a certain amount of time and have done some specific work. My goal is to understand how they work. My job is about improvement.'

Tiger pacers, led by Khaled Ahmed, demolished the Sri Lankan batting line-up right from the start of the day. Khaled took all three wickets lost at the beginning of their innings. Coach Adams is delighted with his protege's performance. Speaking of his own joy, he said,

'I am very excited. When you think of Khaled, Shakib, who bowled brilliantly in the ODIs but got injured, I feel they have the desire to learn and improve among them. I am happy with what I have achieved.'
