Babar Azam reappointed as Pakistan captain
The armband of the captain of the Pakistan national cricket team will once again be worn by star cricketer Babar Azam. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Sunday that Babar will lead Pakistan in both formats of the game - One Day Internationals (ODIs) and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).
In a social media post on 'X', PCB stated, "Babar Azam has been appointed as the captain of the Pakistan cricket team in the white-ball formats."
It is further mentioned that this decision comes in accordance with the unanimous directive from PCB's selection committee. PCB Chairman, Mohsin Khan, has also expressed his agreement.
PCB shared a video post of Babar Azam and Mohsin Khan's meeting.

Babar Azam was first appointed as the captain of the T20I format by PCB in 2019. In 2020, he assumed responsibilities for ODIs and Tests as well.
Last year in November, Babar relinquished captaincy across all formats due to his poor performance in the Asia Cup and ICC T20 World Cup.
While Shaheen Shah Afridi led in T20Is, Shan Masood led in Tests.
According to reports from Pakistani media, PCB proposed Babar Azam to be the captain in all three formats. However, before taking up the captaincy in all formats, Babar has laid down some conditions of his own.
