Shakib play for Bangla Tigers Mississauga in Global T20

Bangladesh’s star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has joined a new team for the upcoming season of the Global T20 Canada League. Previously, Shakib played for the Montreal Tigers, but in the latest edition of this franchise-based tournament, the left-handed all-rounder will be playing for the Bangla Tigers Mississauga.

Shakib will participate in the fourth season of the Global T20 Canada League right after the World Cup. Despite wearing the Montreal Tigers jersey in the previous edition, Shakib has now switched teams. The Bangla Tigers Mississauga franchise signed Shakib directly before the players’ draft.

Following Shakib’s signing, the franchise added Pakistani star batter Iftikhar Ahmed to their roster. Afghan opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Namibian all-rounder David Wiese will also be Shakib’s teammates in the new team.

In the latest edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Shakib was one of the top performers. He scored 225 runs and took 17 wickets in 13 matches, making him the second-highest wicket-taker of the tournament.

This year’s Global T20 Canada League will commence on July 25 and run until August 11, with all matches being held at the Brampton grounds.
