In Antigua, West Indies found themselves in trouble early on, losing both openers with just 12 runs on the board. However, KC Carty and Shai Hope steadied the innings with a 143-run partnership. Carty eventually fell for 71 off 77 balls to Adil Rashid’s delivery.
Shai Hope continued with a magnificent century, scoring 117 from 127 balls. Sherfane Rutherford provided support with a quick 54 off 36 balls. In the closing overs, Roston Chase and Matthew Ford scored 20* (22) and 23* (11) respectively to boost the score. England's John Turner and Adil Rashid each took two wickets.
Chasing 329, England lost Will Jacks early for 12 off 11 balls, followed by Jordan Cox for a mere 4 off 19 balls. However, Phil Salt (59) and Jacob Bethell (55) anchored the chase, setting the stage for the middle order. Captain Liam Livingstone then took charge, unleashing an aggressive innings to keep England in contention. Supported by Sam Curran, who scored 52 before being dismissed by Matthew Ford, Livingstone led England to victory with an unbeaten 124 off 85 balls.
Matthew Ford claimed 3 wickets for West Indies, but Livingstone’s outstanding performance earned him the Player of the Match award.
