In the final Test in Rawalpindi, Bangladesh made history by defeating the hosts by 6 wickets and winning the series. The two young pace bowlers who contributed to this victory, Hasan Mahmud and Nahid Rana, have made significant strides in the Test bowlers' rankings. They have been rewarded for their performances in the second Test and are now at their career-best rankings. However, Shakib Al Hasan, who struggled with the ball during the Pakistan tour, has dropped one place.
In the latest ICC Test bowling rankings, pace bowler Hasan Mahmud has climbed 16 places to the 57th position, with a current rating of 367. This is Hasan's career-best ranking. Another pace bowler who played a major role in Bangladesh’s victory, Nahid Rana, is also at a career-high ranking. With a rating of 225 points, Nahid has risen 23 places to a career-best 97th position.
Among others who have advanced in the Test rankings is Mehidy Hasan Miraz. The spinner, who took the most wickets in the series with 10, has moved up 1 place to 22nd in the bowlers' rankings. Taskin Ahmed has also improved in the ICC Test bowlers' rankings. Taskin has moved up 11 places to 85th, with a rating of 264 points, which is his career-best.
Just as in batting, Shakib Al Hasan has also experienced a decline in the bowling rankings. With 567 rating points, Shakib has dropped one place to 29th. Shariful Islam, who missed the second Test due to injury, has also fallen, dropping 4 places from his career-best ranking to currently stand at 67th.
