Retention and Direct Signings of BPL's 7 Teams Before the Draft

Ahead of the upcoming BPL (Bangladesh Premier League), the BPL Players' Draft will take place tomorrow (October 14) at a five-star hotel in the capital (Dhaka). Before the draft, the 7 teams (3 new, 4 old) have retained and directly signed players to organize their squads.

In BPL 2025 (the 11th edition of the league), the new franchises are Dhaka Capitals, Chittagong Kings, and Durbar Rajshahi. Naturally, they were unable to retain any players.

The four existing franchises – Fortune Barishal, Sylhet Strikers, Khulna Tigers, and Rangpur Riders – have each retained two players.

Retained Players:

Fortune Barishal: Tamim Iqbal (6 million BDT) and Mushfiqur Rahim (6 million BDT).
Sylhet Strikers: Tanzim Hasan Sakib (4 million BDT) and Zakir Hasan (2.5 million BDT).
Khulna Tigers:Nasum Ahmed (2.5 million BDT) and Afif Hossain (4 million BDT).
Rangpur Riders: Nurul Hasan Sohan (4 million BDT) and Sheikh Mahedi Hasan (4 million BDT).

Players Signed Through Direct Signing (Bangladeshi):

Dhaka Capitals: Mustafizur Rahman (6 million BDT) and Tanzid Hasan Tamim (4 million BDT).
Chittagong Kings: Shakib Al Hasan (6 million BDT) and Shoriful Islam (6 million BDT).
Fortune Barishal: Towhid Hridoy (6 million BDT).
Sylhet Strikers: Jaker Ali Anik (4 million BDT).
Khulna Tigers: Mehidy Hasan Miraz (6 million BDT).
Rangpur Riders: Mohammad Saifuddin (2.5 million BDT).
Durbar Rajshahi: Anamul Haque Bijoy (4 million BDT) and Jishan Alam (2 million BDT).

Additionally, the BCB (Bangladesh Cricket Board) has confirmed through a press release that Chittagong Kings have signed 6 foreign players through direct signing.

Chittagong Kings' Foreign Direct Signings: Moeen Ali (England), Usman Khan (Pakistan), Haider Ali (Pakistan), Angelo Mathews (Sri Lanka), Mohammad Wasim Jr. (Pakistan), and Binura Fernando (Sri Lanka).
