Bangladesh Opts to Bat First in Must-Win Second ODI Against Sri Lanka in Colombo
Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz won the toss and chose to bat first at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo as the visitors seek to keep the three-match ODI series alive.
Bangladesh made two changes to their playing XI from the first ODI. Litton Das has been dropped, while pacer Taskin Ahmed—who took four wickets in the series opener—has been rested. In their places come Shamim Hossain Patwary and Hasan Mahmud.
Sri Lanka also made two changes. Dunith Wellalage and Dushmantha Chameera come in for Ishan Malinga and Milan Rathnayake.

Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Parvez Hossain Emon, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Towhid Hridoy, Mehidy Hasan Miraz (capt), Zakir Ali Anik (wk), Shamim Hossain Patwary, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Tanvir Islam, Mustafizur Rahman, Hasan Mahmud.
Sri Lanka Playing XI:
Nishan Madushka, Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, Kamindu Mendis, Charith Asalanka (capt), Janith Liyanage, Dunith Wellalage, Wanindu Hasaranga, Maheesh Theekshana, Dushmantha Chameera, Asitha Fernando.
Bangladesh trails the series 1–0 after losing the first ODI by 77 runs and must win today to force a decider in Kandy.
