Zimbabwe pick four uncapped players for Ireland Test
Zimbabwe Cricket has selected four uncapped players for the only Test against Ireland in Belfast. Clive Madande, Brian Bennett, Joylord Gumbie, and Jonathan Campbell have made it into the 15-member squad for the first time. The squad, led by Craig Ervine, includes several senior players.
Zimbabwe has announced the squad for the first Test against Ireland. The two teams will face each other in Test cricket for the first time later this month. The match will take place at Stormont in Belfast on July 25.
The uncapped players called up for the Test squad are wicketkeeper-batter Clive Madande, all-rounder Brian Bennett, Joylord Gumbie, and Jonathan Campbell. Three of them are already part of the T20 squad for the ongoing home series against India. Experienced players like captain Craig Ervine and Sean Williams are also included in the squad for the Irish tour.
The pace attack is composed of Tendai Chatara, Blessing Muzarabani, and Richard Ngarava. This is Zimbabwe's first assignment in this format since the home series against the West Indies in February 2023.
