Among the strongest teams in Asia are India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. Additionally, the four semifinalist teams from the Women's Premier Cup have also been included: United Arab Emirates, Nepal, Thailand, and Malaysia.
ACC mentioned in their announcement that similar to the previous edition, all match officials in this edition will be women. From umpires to match officials, the presence of women will be notable. Last time, the tournament was held with seven teams, but this time the number has increased to eight.
In a statement, ACC President Jay Shah said, "We are organizing the Asia Cup 2024 in the Asian region to promote women's cricket. The increase in the number of teams indicates the growing popularity and importance of women's cricket."
