Bangladesh will take on India in the first Test of their series tomorrow at 10 AM in Chennai. Ahead of the match, captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto emphasized that the team's focus is solely on implementing their plans rather than worrying about the opposition or conditions.
Arriving in Chennai with the sweet memory of whitewashing Pakistan in Rawalpindi, Shanto's team is eager to create a record against India as well. He stated, "If we can perform well in this series, every team will want to play against us more often. This is a big opportunity for us to showcase our skills. I hope that as Bangladesh continues to perform well in Tests, other teams will show interest in playing against us."
The Tigers will be playing with the SG ball in the first Test. When asked about the challenges posed by the ball and the pitch conditions, Shanto was dismissive of any concerns. "We have practiced with the SG ball in Bangladesh. Even after arriving here, we had several sessions with it. Overall, every batter has adapted quite well. Their bowling attack is strong, and challenges will be there. But everyone is ready to take those challenges. I don’t think we need to worry too much about the ball. Everyone has been playing international cricket for a long time, and we all have the capability to adapt to these situations."
With Shakib Al Hasan joining the team today and participating in extensive practice with the batting coach, the team looks well-prepared for the challenge ahead.
