Towhid Hridoy suffered groin injury
Bangladesh team received another setback during their Caribbean tour, as top-order batter Towhid Hridoy suffered a muscle injury ahead of the three-match ODI series against the West Indies. The 23-year-old sustained the injury while playing football during a practice session in his hometown of Bogura.
The red-ball players of Bangladesh are already on the West Indies tour, while the remaining white-ball players will join the team after the Test series. Before departing for the West Indies, the star batters of the ODI and T20 teams were preparing in the country. Unfortunately, during this break, Towhid Hridoy was injured, causing a delay in the announcement of the ODI squad.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is currently waiting for Hridoy's medical report. Due to this injury, the announcement of the ODI squad has been delayed. A BCB official told Cricbuzz, "Towhid Hridoy has suffered a muscle strain, and we are waiting for the medical report."
The full tour will consist of three ODIs and three T20 matches against the West Indies after the Test series. The ODI series will begin on December 8, with the next two matches scheduled for December 10 and 12 in St. Kitts. The T20 series will commence on December 15.
Due to Hridoy's injury, there may be changes in the team's plans, and the announcement of the squad will only take place once the medical report is received.
