Toss delayed due to rain at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium
The second Test of the Bangladesh-Pakistan series starts today, August 30, in Rawalpindi. Pakistan revealed their top 12 players a day before the match. Due to rain and a wet outfield, there has been a delay in the toss. The umpires will later inspect the field and announce the start time of the match.
Taskin Ahmed was not part of the playing XI in the first Test in Rawalpindi. After playing his last Test against Afghanistan in June last year, Taskin returns for the series against Pakistan. Naheed Rana, who was expensive in the first Test, is expected to be dropped to make room for Taskin.
While a 12-man squad was announced the previous day, Pakistan will disclose their final XI at the toss. Abrar Ahmed, the only recognized spinner, is set to return to action. Unlike the first Test, where Pakistan played with four fast bowlers, they are opting for one spinner this time. Bangladesh, on the other hand, is likely to deploy three fast bowlers in their attack.
The match will be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from August 30 to September 3. Bangladesh achieved a historic 10-wicket victory in the first Test and now has an opportunity to win the series.
Possible Bangladesh XI: Zakir Hasan, Sadman Islam, Najmul Hossain Shanto (Captain), Mominul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib Al Hasan, Litton Das (Wicketkeeper), Mehedi Hasan Miraz, Shariful Islam, Hasan Mahmud, Taskin Ahmed.
Possible Pakistan XI: Shan Masood (Captain), Saud Shakeel (Vice-Captain), Abrar Ahmed, Abdullah Shafique, Babar Azam, Khurram Shahzad, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Rizwan (Wicketkeeper), Naseem Shah, Saim Ayub, Salman Ali Agha, Mir Hamza.
