Tamim Iqbal’s Recovery: Bangladesh Football Team Prays for His Health

Following the successful placement of a stent in Tamim Iqbal’s heart, the former captain of the Bangladesh national cricket team remains under close observation at the Cardiac Care Unit (CCU) of KPJ Specialized Hospital in Savar.

News of Tamim's sudden illness reached the Bangladesh national football team, who were in Shillong for their AFC Asian Cup qualifier match against India. Upon hearing of the cricket star's condition, the football players gathered for a special prayer session for his swift recovery. The team, led by coach Javier Cabrera, prayed for Tamim's health during their last practice session before their match with India, scheduled for March 25.

Tamim, who was initially reported to be in critical condition, regained consciousness in the afternoon and was able to speak with his family. His condition appears to be improving, and doctors are continuing to monitor him closely.

Earlier today, Tamim had felt severe chest pain after performing the toss for the Mohammedan Sporting Club-Shainpukur match at BKSP. Although he was initially fine, he suddenly collapsed after returning to the dressing room. After being rushed to the nearest hospital, he initially showed signs of improvement but was later found to have a heart blockage.

Tamim was then transferred to the hospital in Dhaka by helicopter for better treatment. Following further tests, the doctors performed an angiogram and placed a stent in his heart. He is now under intensive care at the hospital, and his situation is being closely monitored by a team of specialists.

As news of Tamim’s health crisis spread, his teammates from both the national cricket and football teams, along with the general public, have shown immense support and well wishes for his recovery.
