Tamim Iqbal has reached Chennai, the venue of the first Test

Tamim Iqbal has frequently expressed his interest in commentary over time. He has previously done commentary during the BPL and the Mirpur Test against New Zealand. Now, Tamim is going abroad, and he will be seen with a microphone in the upcoming India-Bangladesh series. This morning, the former captain left the country for Chennai.

Najmul Hossain Shanto’s team is currently in India for two Tests and three T20Is. The three T20I matches will be held on October 6, 9, and 12, after the two-Test series concludes. Before the series starts, commentator Tamim Iqbal has already arrived at the venue for the first Test in Chennai.

Tamim made his debut in international commentary in December of last year. During the second Test between Bangladesh and New Zealand in Mirpur, Tamim praised the country’s cricketers and excited the audience with his commentary. He had previously entered the commentary box for the first time during the 2022 BPL.

Due to fitness issues, Tamim Iqbal is currently out of action on the field. Although he is not with the national team, he will be traveling to India for the series. This will be his first time providing commentary on an international match abroad. Tamim has finalized his contract with the broadcasting channel Star Sports and has arrived at the venue for the first Test.

Tamim’s last ODI for the national team was against New Zealand in Mirpur in September of last year. His most recent Test appearance was even earlier, against Ireland in Mirpur in April of the previous year. He has also retired from T20I cricket since March 2020.
