Sri Lanka reach 400, lose only wicket in first session

Yesterday morning's session was filled with significant disappointment, and today seems to be no different. In this session, Bangladesh's success was limited to just Dinesh Chandimal's wicket. Without the presence of the 'wicket-taker' bowler Shakib Al Hasan, Bangladesh struggled to create any wicket-taking opportunities. Even though Shakib took a breakthrough, the other bowlers failed to capitalize on any chances. Sri Lankan captain Dhananjaya gifted Bangladesh another disappointing session after Chandimal's departure. He reunited with his former partner, Kusal Mendis, who enjoyed his break leisurely.

At the end of the first session on the second day, Sri Lanka's scoreboard showed 411 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. A total of 118 overs have been played so far. In this session alone, Sri Lanka managed to score 97 runs, losing only Chandimal's wicket in 28 overs. The partnership between Dhananjaya and Kusal added 36 runs. They seemed capable of increasing the run rate on such wickets if they continue playing together. The match situation suggests a challenging journey for the traveling team.

Sri Lanka had an edge with their batsmen's expertise on the first day of the Chattogram Test. They accumulated over three hundred runs on the opening day itself. Chandimal and Dhananjaya took to batting with the goal of conquering the mountain of runs. It seemed like Bangladesh was searching for wickets in every direction during the Chattogram Test, prompting Shakib Al Hasan to take charge.

Despite Shakib's brilliant bowling, the other two spinners, Taijul Islam and Mehidy Hasan Miraz, seemed lackluster. The partnership between Dhananjaya and Kusal has already caused many problems for Bangladesh in this series. In the first innings of the Sylhet Test, they had a partnership of 202 runs, troubling the Tiger bowlers again in the next innings with a partnership of 173 runs. Dhananjaya and Kusal have set records in both innings of this series.

Returning from Sylhet to Chattogram for the Test, Dhananjaya took a break, but their absence did not change the game's dynamics. Despite Sri Lanka losing five wickets, Bangladesh found no relief in their batting lineup after Chandimal's dismissal.
