As part of their preparations for the T20 World Cup Super 8s, South Africa enjoyed a six-wicket victory over the United Arab Emirates in their final group match. In Delhi, the UAE set a target of 123 runs, which the Proteas chased down with 40 balls remaining.

With the match having little impact on qualification, South Africa rested four of their key players: David Miller, Marco Jansen, Keshav Maharaj, and Lungi Ngidi. After winning the toss, they opted to field first.

The UAE innings began steadily with Aryansh Sharma (13) and captain Muhammad Waseem (22), but Corbin Bosch and George Linde quickly removed the openers.

Alishan Sharafu then became the UAE’s main hope for a competitive total, but with wickets falling around him, their innings could not gain momentum. Sharafu fell just five runs short of a half-century, and the UAE managed only 20 runs in the final four overs to finish at 122-6.

Rain briefly interrupted play during the innings break, but South Africa returned with determination. Captain Aiden Markram got the team off to a fast start, scoring 28 runs off just 11 balls. Ryan Rickelton added 30 and Dewald Brevis contributed 36 runs as the Proteas reached their target comfortably in the 14th over.

With this win, South Africa finished Group D with a perfect record of four wins from four matches, while the UAE managed only a single victory in the tournament.
