Shahidul Alam Ratan Expresses Condolences on the Death of Kazi Mohammed Hasan
Kazi Mohammed Hasan, the legendary cricketer and coach from Mymensingh, passed away early this morning in Khulna. His demise has left the cricket community of Mymensingh and the entire country deeply saddened.
Shahidul Alam Ratan expressed his heartfelt respect for Kazi Hasan in a Facebook post. He wrote, “We have lost our beloved Kazi Bhai. He dedicated every moment of his life to cricket and guided thousands of players on the fields of Mymensingh, many of whom went on to represent Bangladesh at the highest level.”
Kazi Bhai was the co-founder of County Club, Mymensingh, established in 1958. He was not only a player or a coach but also an ideal mentor, administrator, and lifelong student of cricket. In Ratan’s memory, “He had a rare ability to inspire new players, create opportunities for them, and build strong team spirit. His vision emphasized giving equal importance to education and cricket.”
Recalling his personal experience, Shahidul Alam Ratan wrote, “When I was around 13 years old, he gave me the opportunity to join County Club training. That day changed the course of my life.”
The passing of Kazi Mohammed Hasan is not just the loss of a player but also that of a guardian, brother, coach, and mentor. According to Ratan, “His legacy will continue through the new generations of cricketers he nurtured in Mymensingh. It is our responsibility to carry forward the path he showed us.”
He concluded, “May Allah grant him the highest place in Jannah.”
