Pakistan has released Shaheen Shah Afridi from the squad for the second Test match against Bangladesh. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed this in a press release on Friday.
The left-arm pacer, Shaheen Shah Afridi, was excluded from the 12-member team for the ongoing Test in Rawalpindi. In a statement, the PCB said that the Test team management decided to release Shaheen from the squad to allow him to spend time with his family.
Notably, on the fourth day of the first Test in Rawalpindi, where Pakistan lost to Bangladesh by ten wickets, Shaheen's son Ali Yar was born.
In the first Test against Bangladesh, Shaheen took two wickets in the first innings but failed to take any in the second. He conceded 96 runs and took 2 wickets in the first Test.
Due to rain, no play was possible on the first day of the second Test. The toss was also not conducted, so Pakistan's playing eleven is yet to be announced. However, the 12 players in Pakistan's squad are:
Abdullah Shafique
Saim Ayub
Shan Masood
Babar Azam
Saud Shakeel
Mohammad Rizwan
Salman Ali Agha
Mir Hamza
Mohammad Ali
Khurram Shahzad
Naseem Shah
Abrar Ahmed
