After 29 months away from Test cricket, Sadman Islam celebrated his return with a half-century, coming close to a century. Following a 20-minute tea break, Sadman could have scripted a classic comeback with a century. However, he was dismissed by Pakistani pacer Mohammad Ali, making 93 runs. Bangladesh, with 4 wickets down for 199 runs, is still trailing by 249 runs.

Opening the innings for the first time since 2022, Sadman Islam excelled, heading towards a century. Despite his impressive batting, he fell 7 runs short. Before the tea break on the third day, Bangladesh's score stood at 199 for 4 in 66 overs. Mushfiqur Rahim was batting on 15 from 38 balls.

Even though Bangladesh lost Zakir Hasan and Naimul Hossain Shanto, the partnership between Sadman Islam and Mominul Haque saw them take control of the first session on Day 3 of the Rawalpindi Test. Sadman reached his third career fifty just before the lunch break.

Mominul Haque, who scored his 19th fifty, had to depart soon after. Mominul was dismissed for 50, breaking the 94-run partnership with Sadman. Sadman continued to advance the innings with Mushfiqur Rahim, moving closer to a century. During this period, Pakistan lost a review attempt to dismiss Mushfiqur, while Sadman survived an LBW decision after a review.

Just before the tea break, Sadman completed his fifty with a solid 123-ball innings but was dismissed for 93 by a superb delivery from Mohammad Ali. He had to return to the pavilion with his innings cut short.
