Saif Hasan Leads Rangpur Riders to Victory Against Fortune Barishal

Saif Hasan was the hero for Rangpur Riders in their match against Fortune Barishal, scoring an impressive 62 runs and being named Player of the Match. After a quick succession of wickets, Saif partnered with Alex Hales to build an 113-run stand off 81 balls, steering his team to victory.

Reflecting on his contribution, Saif expressed his happiness at being able to perform under pressure. He said in the post-match press conference, "The pressure was high given the situation I came in. But I am happy that I could contribute for the team. After talking with Hales, batting became much easier. With God's grace, I managed to score a good run."

Saif also played a key role in helping Rangpur Riders win the Global Super League, where his performance earned him the team's trust. In the absence of Soumya Sarkar, who was injured, Saif was included in the playing XI. On his responsibility in Soumya’s absence, Saif said, "Of course, not just in this match, but from the Global Super League, I had responsibility. Everyone is backing me, and the team management has trusted me, so I am happy."

While some players in the BPL have raised concerns about unpaid salaries, Saif revealed that the payment process for Rangpur Riders has been smooth. "The payment has been smooth. I’ve received what I was supposed to get," he said.

During the match, although Fortune Barishal's bowlers took two wickets during the powerplay, they failed to dismiss more of Rangpur's batters. Saif also commented on the impact of Rishad Hossain, saying that the game could have been different if he had been there to bowl in the middle overs. "Rishad is a good bowler, a wicket-taker in the middle overs. He performed well in the Global Super League too. Tanvir Bhai was also there in the team, and he’s a wicket-taker. Rishad is definitely one of the best bowlers in Bangladesh for the middle overs," Saif added.
