Rashid Khan Breaks Dwayne Bravo's Record for Most T20 Wickets
Rashid Khan has shattered Dwayne Bravo’s record for the most wickets in official T20 cricket. The record, which previously stood at 631 wickets, is now in the hands of Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan.
On Tuesday, Rashid broke the record while playing for the Parl Royals in the South Africa T20 League. He dismissed Dunith Wellalage, which helped him surpass Bravo's tally and claim the title of the highest wicket-taker in official T20 cricket. Rashid now has 633 wickets in his name, from 461 matches.
On the other hand, Dwayne Bravo, the West Indian all-rounder, previously held the record with 631 wickets from 582 matches, which is 121 more matches than Rashid has played in the T20 format.
Speaking at the post-match award ceremony after breaking the record, Rashid Khan said, "This is a great achievement. If you had asked me 10 years ago whether I could reach this point, I would have said I don’t think about such things. For someone from Afghanistan to reach this level is truly a proud moment. Bravo is one of the best T20 bowlers in the history of the game."
Rashid added, "This is a huge honor, and I look forward to doing even better in the future."
Rashid Khan's accomplishment marks a significant milestone in T20 cricket and further solidifies his reputation as one of the format's finest bowlers.
