Rangpur Riders continued their winning streak in the 2025 BPL by defeating home team Chittagong Kings by 33 runs, securing their eighth consecutive victory. The team, led by Nurul Hasan Sohan, has won all their first eight matches of the tournament. On the other hand, Chittagong Kings, who had been on a winning run, finally tasted defeat after four matches. To stop Rangpur's momentum, Chittagong needed to chase down 165 runs, but with a poor batting performance, they only managed to score 131, losing 8 wickets in the process.

Rangpur Riders, after being put to bat first, posted a challenging total of 164 runs. Khushdil Shah played a pivotal role in guiding the team to this total, scoring 59 runs off 28 balls, including 7 sixes and 2 fours, at a strike rate of 210.71. Sheikh Mehedi Hasan provided support at the end, contributing 17 runs off 12 balls.

For Chittagong Kings, spinners Aliss Al Islam and Pakistani pacer Mohammad Wasim Jr. took 2 wickets each. Binura Fernando, Arafat Sunny, and Naim Islam each took 1 wicket.

In reply, Chittagong Kings were in trouble early on, losing 4 wickets for just 53 runs. The first wicket fell on the very first ball when Rakibul Hasan dismissed Usman Khan for a golden duck. Although Parvez Hossain Imon was in good form, the Kings soon collapsed. After a 45-run partnership between Imon and Graham Clark, the team was reduced to further crisis when Akif Javed dismissed Imon (26), Mohammad Mithun, and Clark in successive overs. Clark scored 23 off 20 balls, while captain Mithun was dismissed for just 2 runs.

Naim Islam (19 off 24 balls) and Shamim Hossain Patowary (38 off 31 balls) tried to steady the ship, but their efforts were not enough. With the fall of their wickets, Chittagong’s chase faltered, and they were eventually bowled out for 131 in 20 overs, giving Rangpur Riders an 8-wicket win.
