In the NCL T20, Rajshahi kicked off the tournament with a 14-run win over Khulna using the DLS method at the Sylhet Academy Ground. Winning the toss and opting to bat first, Khulna's captain Anamul Haque Bijoy departed for a golden duck. However, the second-wicket partnership between Azizul Hakim Tamim, the recent Youth Asia Cup-winning captain, and Amit Majumdar added 77 runs. Amit scored 27 runs.
Youth captain Tamim played a remarkable knock for Khulna, scoring 53 runs off 31 balls, including three fours and four sixes. However, quick strikes by Farhad Reza and Mohor Sheikh led to a flurry of wickets. Late contributions from Nurul Hasan Sohan (37 off 26 balls) and Mrityunjay Chowdhury (35 off 15 balls) took Khulna to a total of 172 for 7 in their allotted overs.
For Rajshahi, Farhad Reza claimed three wickets, while Mohor Sheikh took two.
Chasing a target of 173, Rajshahi reached 153 for 3 in 17.2 overs before the match was stopped due to poor light. According to the DLS method, Rajshahi needed 142 runs at that stage to win. With their score already at 153, Rajshahi secured an 11-run victory over Khulna.
Habibur Rahman Sohan starred with the bat for Rajshahi, scoring 66 runs off 38 balls. Pritom Kumar contributed 30 runs, while Sabbir Hossain added 28. Mrityunjay Chowdhury picked up two wickets for Khulna.
