PSL 2025: Shakib and Rishad in Lahore Qalandars' XI for Qualifier Against Islamabad United
Lahore Qalandars secured a spot in the second Qualifier after defeating Karachi Kings in the Eliminator last night. In that match, Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan bowled just one over, picking up a wicket while conceding only four runs.
Now, the focus shifts to a fresh challenge as Lahore face Islamabad United today, Friday, in the second Qualifier of the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL). Lahore captain Shaheen Shah Afridi won the toss and opted to bat first. The winner of this high-stakes match will face Quetta Gladiators in the final on May 25.
For this crucial clash, Lahore Qalandars have included both Shakib Al Hasan and Rishad Hossain in the playing XI. Rishad returns to the lineup in place of pacer Zaman Khan, who has been dropped. However, Mehidy Hasan Miraz continues to wait for his debut in overseas franchise leagues.
In the Eliminator, Shakib didn't get a chance to bat, as Lahore chased down the target with six wickets in hand. However, his tight one-over spell demonstrated his value to the team.

Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Naim, Abdullah Shafique, Kusal Perera (wk), Shakib Al Hasan, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Asif Ali, Shaheen Shah Afridi (capt), Salman Mirza, Rishad Hossain, Haris Rauf.
