Pakistan's Saim Ayub Faces Doubts for New Zealand Tour Due to Injury
After the Champions Trophy, Pakistan cricketer Saim Ayub is now facing the risk of missing the upcoming tour of New Zealand. He still requires at least five more weeks to fully recover from his injury, as confirmed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
In a statement on Friday, the PCB said, "Saim's recovery from his right ankle fracture is promising. He is currently in England, where he will continue his rehabilitation. Due to the injury sustained in South Africa five weeks ago, he will be sidelined for a total of 10 weeks."
Saim had injured his right ankle during the Cape Town Test against South Africa, which led to his 10-week absence from the field. After the injury, he was sent to London for treatment. Now, his participation in the upcoming white-ball series against New Zealand is uncertain.
Pakistan's tour of New Zealand will begin on March 16, following the Champions Trophy. The tour will feature a series of five T20Is and three One-Day Internationals (ODIs).
