Pakistan announce World Cup squad with one change
As preparations enter the final phase, Pakistan have sent out a clear message of balance and continuity ahead of the T20 World Cup. The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming tournament, making just one change from the squad that featured in the Australia series.
Mohammad Wasim Jr has been left out, with Usman Tariq earning a place in the World Cup squad. Salman Ali Agha will continue as captain, maintaining leadership stability. Babar Azam, who returned to the T20 side earlier, has been included in the World Cup squad as well. However, regular performer Mohammad Rizwan has not been selected.
Several players in the squad are set to feature in a T20 World Cup for the first time. Salman Ali Agha, Faheem Ashraf, Khawaja Mohammad Nafe, Mohammad Salman Mirza, Sahibzada Farhan and Usman Tariq will all be making their World Cup debuts. The remaining players have all previously played in at least one T20 World Cup.
