Pacer Hasan Mahmud to join Bangladesh squad for 2025 Champions Trophy preparations
Hasan Mahmud, a pacer who has taken 31 wickets in 23 ODIs for Bangladesh, has been excluded from the final 15-member squad for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. However, despite not making it to the tournament squad, Hasan Mahmud will still travel to Dubai for the pre-tournament preparations. Before the tournament officially begins, he is expected to return to Bangladesh.
For the Champions Trophy, Bangladesh's pace attack will consist of Taskin Ahmed, Nahid Rana, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, and Mustafizur Rahman. Hasan Mahmud's excellent form, however, has earned him a place in the preparatory camp for the tournament.
Bangladesh is placed in Group B of the Champions Trophy, alongside India, Pakistan, and New Zealand. The team's campaign will begin in Dubai against India on February 20, 2025. Following the match in Dubai, Bangladesh will travel to Pakistan for the next phase of their tournament.
After playing against India, Bangladesh will move to Rawalpindi where they will face New Zealand on February 24 in their second match. Three days later, they will take on the host nation, Pakistan, at the same venue.
