In the Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL), North Zone secured a dominant 6-wicket victory over South Zone. They bowled South Zone out for just 144 runs in 30.5 overs and comfortably chased down the target within half of their innings, losing only four wickets.
After losing the toss at the Rajshahi Divisional Stadium, South Zone were sent in to bat first. Under pressure from the bowling attack of Shoriful Islam and Nahid Rana, they lost four wickets for just 19 runs early on. Afif Hossain, who had scored a century in the previous match, managed only 4 runs this time, while Soumya Sarkar added 9.
Although there was an attempt to build a partnership with Mohammad Mithun, Sohan was dismissed for 24. Robiul Haque scored 29 runs. Mithun held one end firmly and remained unbeaten on 55, but received little support from the other batters.
For North Zone, Nahid Rana and Sheikh Meherob Hasan took three wickets each. Shoriful Islam and Mukidul Mugdha picked up two wickets apiece.
Chasing the modest target, Habibur Rahman Sohan played a quick cameo of 14 runs off just 6 balls before getting out. The other South Zone opener, Tanzid Tamim, scored 18. Najmul Hossain Shanto was dismissed for a duck by Mustafizur Rahman. Eventually, Liton Das guided the team to victory with a 55-run innings, while Akbar Ali remained unbeaten on 19. Towhid Hridoy contributed 33 runs in the middle. North Zone sealed the win in just 25.4 overs.
For South Zone, Mustafizur Rahman was the standout bowler, taking 3 wickets for 23 runs.
