Nigar's 63* in vain as Australia romp to 10-wicket win

In the first T20 match of the three-match series, Bangladesh and Australia faced off. Despite Bangladesh's decent collection of funds when they first came to bat, it was overshadowed by Australia's controlled batting. Australia achieved the target of 127 runs set by Bangladesh without losing any wickets. Securing a victory with 10 wickets and 42 balls to spare, the visitors took a lead of 1-0 in the series.

Bangladesh had set a target of three digits against Australia. What didn't happen in the One Day series, happened this time. However, even against such a target, Bangladesh found themselves in a vulnerable position. Nigar Sultana Joti's team couldn't create any pressure on the Australian team through the continuous batting of openers Alisa Healy and Beth Mooney.

Healy and Mooney made it easy for Australians to win. Two of Bangladesh's bowlers tried to put pressure on the batsmen. The target was achieved by the end of the 12.6 overs. Healy remained unbeaten with 65 runs off 42 balls, while Mooney remained unbeaten with 55 runs off 36 balls.

Before that, Bangladesh decided to bat first after winning the toss in Mirpur. In none of the three matches of the ODI series did they see a team century. At least in the T20 match today, Bangladesh reached a three-digit figure.

However, Bangladesh didn't start well at all. Before opening the run account, openers Dilara Aktar and Sobhana Mostari lost their wickets. This happened in the very first delivery by Sophie Molineux. In the next over, Sobhana Mostari returned. Losing two wickets for two runs in the team's account, Bangladesh started under pressure.

However, Joti and another opener, Murshida Khatun, rescued Bangladesh with their batting partnership. Together, they relieved Bangladesh from pressure. Murshida returned with 59 runs. Despite scoring personal 20 runs, Murshida returned, but Joti was still there. And that continued till the end. Joti remained unbeaten until the end, scoring 62 runs off 64 balls.
