Muzarabani banned for two PSL seasons
Zimbabwean pace bowling all-rounder Blessing Muzarabani has been banned from the next two editions of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) over allegations of contract breach. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) stated that the decision was taken due to failure to fulfill contractual obligations and joining an alternative agreement.
In its statement, the PCB said that respect for contracts and transparency are crucial in professional cricket. It noted that withdrawing from agreed written terms—including remuneration and other fundamental conditions—constitutes a breach of contract. Such actions, the board added, undermine the credibility of franchise leagues and the transparency of recruitment processes.
The statement further said that while the PCB understands the demands of modern cricket schedules, it will not compromise on ethical and professional standards under any circumstances. The two-season ban has therefore been imposed to uphold discipline in the league and ensure respect for contractual commitments, according to PSL authorities.
It is worth mentioning that after signing up for the PSL, Muzarabani went on to play for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL.
