Miraz to Lead in Crucial Afghanistan ODI
Ahead of the series-deciding final ODI against Afghanistan, Bangladesh's regular captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto is sidelined due to a thigh injury. In his absence, vice-captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz will take over the leadership duties for the crucial match.
After winning the toss, Miraz opted to bat first. With Shanto’s injury, in-form batter Zakir Hasan has been given a spot in the playing XI, replacing Shanto. while Afghanistan will field an unchanged side.
The match, which will take place at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium at 4 PM, is a must-win for Bangladesh to secure the series victory. A win will ensure a 2-1 series win for the Tigers. However, if they fail, Bangladesh will face the bitter experience of losing back-to-back ODI series to Afghanistan, after their 2-1 loss to the same opponents at home earlier this year.
This final ODI holds significant importance as Bangladesh looks to bounce back and avoid a series loss, while Afghanistan aims to clinch a consecutive series win. It remains to be seen whether the Tigers can turn the tide or if Afghanistan will continue their dominance.
